His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan Government, Dr. Abdulhadi Al-Hweij, received this morning at the Ministry’s headquarters in Benghazi, Mr. Khaled Bakdash, President of the Netherlands-based International Press and Media Organization (IPMO).

During the meeting, both parties discussed several issues of mutual interest, primarily the pivotal role of professional media in supporting national causes and establishing a responsible media discourse.

The discussions also explored prospects for enhancing cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and IPMO, with a specific focus on international communication and foreign media relations.

His Excellency the Minister emphasized the importance of media as a strategic tool for conveying the true image of Libya to international public opinion. He stressed the necessity of adhering to the highest standards of professionalism and credibility, and supporting national efforts aimed at enhancing stability and building state institutions.
For his part, the President of the International Press and Media Organization expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and the gracious official invitation from His Excellency the Minister. He praised the role played by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in engaging with international organizations in the European Union to participate in a pivotal role in the development process led by the Libyan government in building modern Libya, affirming the organization’s readiness to enhance joint cooperation to support Libyan media and develop its presence at the regional and international levels.
