The Hague — International Organization for Press and Media, headquartered in the Netherlands, has appointed Emirati media consultant Abdullah Mohammed Ahmed Al Shehi as an International Advisor for Community Media and as a member of its Board of Directors. The appointment underscores the organization’s commitment to strengthening its professional presence and expertise in community media.

The organization’s president, H.E. Khaled Bakdash, presented Al Shehi with the official appointment letter and membership certificate at the Emirates Journalists Association in Dubai yesterday, in a ceremony attended by a number of officials.

In a statement marking the appointment, the organization praised Al Shehi’s extensive experience. He currently serves as Chair of the Yas Society for Culture, Arts and Theatre; Chair of the Board of the Pioneers of Social Media Association; Chair of the Board of the Ambassadors of Happiness volunteer team; and holds ambassadorial roles with Rahma Charitable Society, the World Congress of Media, and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club. He is also a Goodwill Ambassador for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and serves as Media Advisor to the Emirates Creativity Association.

The organization said the decision recognizes Al Shehi’s tangible contributions to community media initiatives and his role in fostering effective engagement between institutions and the public according to high professional standards.

Al Shehi expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and affirmed his commitment to upholding professional values, advancing the organization’s programs, and supporting its media mission on the international stage.
