International Press and Media Organization (IPMO), headquartered in the Netherlands, has bestowed the title “Ambassador of Media Excellence” on Her Excellency Fadila Al Maaini, Chairman of the Emirates Journalists Association, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the advancement of media work and her influential role in upholding journalistic integrity and professional ethics.
The honor was presented during a visit by an IPMO delegation led by Mr. Khaled Bakdash, joined by representatives from Ru’ya Emirates Media Network and the Social Media Pioneers Association, to the Emirati Journalists Association headquarters in Dubai. The visit aimed to strengthen exchange visits and consolidate cooperation with local and international media institutions.
Welcoming the delegation, Fadila Al Maaini said the visit reflects deep professional ties and a spirit of collaborative partnership. She noted that such engagements promote media partnerships and the exchange of expertise, serving the development of journalism and media on both local and international levels.
Expressing pride in the recognition, Al Maaini described the title as both an honor and a responsibility. She said it will motivate continued efforts to develop the media ecosystem, reinforce principles of professionalism and transparency, and advance purposeful media that serves the community.
Khaled Bakdash said the selection of Fadila Al Maaini recognizes her distinguished career and clear contributions to elevating journalistic practice. He added that appointing her as an ambassador for media values reflects confidence in her influential role in promoting ethical and professional standards and supporting responsible media that builds awareness and fosters development.
Bakdash further noted that the award acknowledges her ongoing work to improve the quality of media content, encourage innovation, and support and empower emerging media professionals—strengthening the impact of responsible journalism. He emphasized that the title is reserved for media figures who have left a lasting mark on the media landscape and helped institutionalize sound professional practices.
During the visit, delegations from IPMO, Ru’ya Emirates Media Network, and the Social Media Pioneers Association toured the Emirati Journalists Association’s premises, where they reviewed its facilities, departments, and year-round media and professional activities, as well as the association’s founding history and the figures who contributed to the advancement of Emirati and Arab journalism. The tour included visits to the Media Creativity Center, the Training Center, and the association’s theater, which seats approximately 100 people.
