This week, the Deputy Head of Mission of the Netherlands Embassy in Egypt, Eva Wittman, delivered the opening remarks at a capacity-building workshop entitled “Perilous Journeys: Enhancing Understanding of Mobility Patterns in Africa.” The workshop, held at the Cairo International Center for Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding (CCCPA), included discussions on migration patterns and cooperation frameworks. Representatives from Egypt, the Horn of Africa, and the Sahel region attended the event.

This workshop is being conducted within the framework of the “National Capacity Building to Combat Human Smuggling and Migrant Smuggling” project, funded by the Dutch Ministry of Asylum and Migration and implemented by CCCPA in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Egypt. The project aims to provide capacity-building training and strengthen national and regional capacities, with a particular focus on combating migrant smuggling and human trafficking.
